What is the PM Internship Scheme?

The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme is a government initiative in India that provides young people with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in various sectors. The core aim is to provide the internship opportunities for the young people at top companies in India. 

How to Apply in the PM Internship Scheme?

The candidates must know the details of the application process of applying for the internships at the PM Internship Scheme. Check the steps to apply for the internships.

Step 1: Go to the official website of the PM Internship Scheme

Step 2: Click on the “Youth Registration” option which is available at the Right hand side of the screen.

Step 3: Enter your mobile number and the OTP will be sent to your mobile number.

Step 4: Now, update your Aadhar details and the password.

Step 5: Once your addhar consent is done, add your personal details like name, fathers name, address, gender, etc.

Step 6: Add the Educational and experience details.

Step 7: Cross check all the important details and click on the “Save” button.

There is no registration or application fee.

PM Internship Scheme Eligibility

It is important for the candidates to meet the eligibility criteria as the company double checks your age, qualification details. Check the complete details below.

Age Limit

The age of the candidate must be between 21 - 24 years to attend the recruitment.

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have passed High School or Higher Secondary School, have a certificate from an ITI, have a diploma from a polytechnic institute are eligible to apply and candidates who are Graduated with degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc can also apply.

Ineligibility

Below are the candidates who cannot apply for this scheme - 

• Graduates from premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, and IIITs.
• Professionals with qualifications like CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, or any master's degree or higher.
• Individuals currently enrolled in skill development programs, apprenticeships, internships, or student training initiatives under Central or State government schemes.
• Those who have successfully completed apprenticeships through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
• Candidates whose family members have an annual income of less than Rs 8 Lakh for FY 2023-24.
• Family members of permanent or regular government employees are not eligible to apply.

PM Internship Scheme Stipend

Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 throughout the internship duration where Monthly assistance of ₹4500 will be given by Government of India and ₹500 by Industry
